Voicesĭepending on your platform, text-to-speech (TTS) uses software that comes built into your device or through a Microsoft service. To change the language, see the help article Fix text-to-speech reading in wrong language. Read Aloud uses the proofing language set for the document.
Tip: For instructions about how to add the Speak icon to your Quick Access Toolbar, see the help article Use the Speak text-to-speech feature to read text aloud. In the Quick Access Toolbar, select the Speak selected text icon. Select a word or block of text in your document. Read Aloud reads the entire document starting from your cursor location like an audiobook. Speak reads aloud only the text you select. Speak is a built-in feature of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote. You can easily control Read Aloud using the following keyboard shortcuts in Windows:
Under Voice Selection, select the voice you want. Use the Reading speed slider to change the reading speed. Select the gear icon in the controls at the top right. To move from one paragraph to another, select Previous or Next. To play Read Aloud, select Play in in the controls. Read Aloud is only available for Office 2019, Office 2021, and Microsoft 365.
When you set up Speech preferences in your Mac system preferences, you can select text and have it read by pressing a keyboard combination you’ve defined. Speech is a built-in accessibility feature of MacOS.

Narrator is the Windows Screen reader app that reads your dialog boxes, buttons, and other user interfaces as well as the text. For more information about Immersive Reader, see Learning Tools in Word. Immersive Reader is a set of tools that help improve reading fluency and comprehension. You can use Read Aloud on its own or within Immersive Reader for Word in Windows and MacOS. Read Aloud reads all or part of your document. There are multiple tools for listening to your Word documents: Word makes listening possible by using the text-to-speech (TTS) ability of your device to play back written text as spoken words. If everything looks ok, select Place order and then Finish.There are many reasons to listen to a document, such as proofreading, multitasking, or increased comprehension and learning. Wait for the phone numbers to be reserved, and then view the numbers that you get.Choose an area code, enter the number of phone numbers that you need, and then select Next.For Location, search for the location of the user and select it.For Number type, select User (subscriber).Choose the country or region for the phone number.It may take up to 24 hours for numbers that you order to become available. If you don't have enough phone numbers to assign to new users, you can get more.
For Emergency location, enter the location where the user is located, and then select Apply.In the Edit panel, enter the name of the user that you want to assign the number to in Assigned to.

You need one unassigned phone number for each user that needs to make or receive calls to or from external phone numbers. Assign phone numbers to usersĪfter you create users and assigned them Teams Phone with Calling Plan bundle license, you can assign phone numbers to them. In the Assign product licenses pane, select Teams Phone with Calling Plan.
